We have consultants across a broad range of specialities who see patients requiring clinical diagnosis or treatment for cancer.
Early diagnosis of cancer increases the chances of good recovery and outcomes, as such our rapid access and one stop clinics - for breast, gynaecology and testes - provide consultant and specialist-led assessment and diagnosis, complemented by ease of access to on-site diagnostic facilities and pathology. This service is designed to diagnose disease and start a treatment pathway quickly, while providing our patients peace of mind and fast access to care.
All decisions and patient treatment pathways at Spire Murrayfield Hospital Edinburgh are discussed and established by our multidisciplinary team of experts, which includes consultant surgeons, oncologists, radiologists, nurses, pathologists, mammographers and counsellors. Members of this team will identify the most appropriate course of treatment to meet our patient’s individual clinical needs in accordance with the latest South East Scotland Cancer Network (SCAN) guidelines and protocols, Better Cancer Care and CEL 30.
Patients can access consultant-led oncology assessment, diagnosis and treatment quickly via their GP, and there’s no waiting list for access to treatment. Further information about this service can be found by contacting Self Pay Team on 0131 316 2507.
A range of private treatment options are available at Spire Murrayfield Hospital Edinburgh, including chemotherapy and surgery. Brachytherapy and radiotherapy can be arranged in conjunction with the NHS Western General Hospital in Edinburgh. As treatment programmes can include a combination of therapies, your care at Spire Murrayfield Hospital will be tailored to suit your individual clinical needs.
Our service is designed to provide holistic care and support before, during, and after treatment. We offer clinical psychology and counselling throughout your treatment, as well as specialist physiotherapist-led acupuncture and reflexology for patients receiving chemotherapy.
