We offer various hand surgery treatments from common conditions such as carpal tunnel syndrome and Dupuytren's disease to problems caused by arthritis, rheumatism or injuries from falls.
Our two hospitals located in Edinburgh provide the highest levels of care led by orthopaedic consultant surgeons who are experts in their field.
Remote consultations for diagnosing Dupuytrens’ contracture and one-stop treatment clinics are now available at Spire Edinburgh Hospitals. This new service provides quick and easy access to private patients within Edinburgh and across Scotland, both self-funded and insured.
Working with the Edinburgh Dupuytren’s Group, the service allows patients to self-refer online and upload photos of their hands via Edinburgh Dupuytren’s Group. A follow up telephone consultation is usually all that is required to finalise treatment options.
If a face to face consultation is required, this will take place at Spire Shawfair Park Hospital where all corrective surgery will also take place. Corrective surgery will range from a short visit to the ‘see and treat’ clinic for needle fasciotomy, to a day case admission for open fasciectomy, to an overnight stay for a more complex recurrent Dupuytren’s procedure.
The Edinburgh Dupuytren’s Group is made up of three consultant plastic hand surgeons, Mr Neil Cahoon, Mrs Dominque Davidson and Mr Luca Lancerotto who all have specific expertise and many years of experience in treating Dupuytren’s contracture and are supported by a skilled team of hand therapists.
