Treatments affecting eye surgery

Our expert ophthalmologists (eye specialists) use some of the latest medical treatments for a wide range of eye problems, including:

  • Eye disease such as diabetic retinopathy
  • Conditions commonly associated with age such as cataracts and glaucoma

We offer fast access to diagnostic tests and scans, and can often arrange for you to see a consultant within a few days of your enquiry.

Preparing for your appointment
It is important to know that your eyes will be dilated on the day so you will not be able to drive afterwards for several hours as the drops lower your vision below the DVLA driving standard.

If you are a contact lens wearer these must not be worn prior to your consultation to ensure the accuracy of the scans. Soft lenses require a continuous 7 day break and hard lenses a 14 day break.
