Spire Edinburgh Hospitals are pleased to advise that we are now accepting GP and medical referrals only for outpatient appointments. Unfortunately, at this time, we are unable to accommodate those wishing to self-refer.
When you come in for your outpatient appointment, please do not arrive more than five minutes before your appointment time. This is to minimise the number of people in our waiting areas.
On arrival, before entering either of our hospitals, you will be asked a few quick questions, have your temperature checked and given a mask which must be worn at all times while inside the hospital. Please be advised that we ask that only you attend the outpatient appointment.
Follow-up appointments, where possible, will be conducted via telephone.
Spire Edinburgh Hospitals currently has a no visitor policy.
Please note that Spire Edinburgh Hospitals no longer accepts cash.
At Spire Healthcare, we have a multi-disciplinary team dedicated to providing specialist care for men with prostate, penile, testicular and bladder problems. This may include problems such as difficulty with fertility, erections, prostate cancer and prostate disease, testicular lumps and other male specific conditions.
Men can be notoriously bad at visiting the GP but we’re here to help with a range of treatments to help keep you healthy and enjoying the life you love. Many men have concerns about urinary and prostate health, pelvic pain or sexual function. Some may find these concerns difficult to discuss or find a visit to their doctor unsettling, which is why we offer direct access to expert advice and reassurance. We want to encourage men to take responsibility for their own health by providing an accessible and efficient service in comfortable and discrete surroundings. According to the Office of National Statistics, on average, men have a less healthy lifestyle, meaning they're more likely to die prematurely from some of the UK’s biggest killers – including cardiac heart disease and cancer. Prevention (or early diagnosis) is always better than cure. Prostate cancer is the seventh biggest killer of men in the UK (source: Office for National Statistics) yet a simple two minute test with a doctor can detect it early. We can also help you with less serious conditions affecting the prostate – such as surgery and laser surgery to remove a growth that makes men urinate more often as they age.
We have a number of specialist consultants offering a range of innovative private men's health services and treatments, dedicated to specific male health issues to men of all ages, such UroLift and GreenLight laser therapy. Many of our hospitals also have specialist urology clinics and our Windsor clinic offers semen analysis. Our Leicester hospital uses RevoLix thulium laser surgery for a less invasive alternative to traditional prostate surgery. Regardless of the service you need or where you're treated, you can be sure of receiving: excellent quality, care with a single point of referral, fast track diagnosis, comprehensive range of urological services, access to specialist consultants and nurses, advice and support at every stage, prompt and expert care in the quality and comfort of a private hospital. Your treatment will be tailored around you, with your choice of hospital and appointment times to suit you. You can also choose your own consultant so you can select a man if you want to. You won’t have to wait and we offer payment options that help put tests and treatment within your reach.
