What happens at your appointment?

Your consultant will examine your skin and discuss your symptoms and concerns. They may use a dermatoscope for close up assessment or recommend a biopsy if they suspect something needs further analysis.

If minor surgery is needed, this can usually be done on site under local anaesthetic – either during your appointment or at a follow up visit. Most procedures take under 30 minutes.

FAQs about private skin treatments

Do I need a referral to see a skin specialist?

No - you can self refer by contacting us directly. We’ll help you choose the right consultant.

How much does mole removal or skin surgery cost?

Prices start from £200 for consultations. Each consultant sets their own consultation fees so please check before making the appointment. You’ll be given a personalised quote before any treatment is carried out.

Can you remove moles or cysts for cosmetic reasons?

Yes we offer both medically necessary and cosmetic skin procedures. Cosmetic treatment is not usually covered by insurance but self-pay options are available.

Will I have a scar after mole removal?

Any surgical skin removal will leave a small scar, but our consultants take care to minimise visible scarring, especially in sensitive or exposed areas.

Is mole removal painful?

Most procedures are carried out under a local anaesthetic and are well tolerated. Recovery is usually straightforward and you’ll be given aftercare instructions to help healing.
