Spire Parkway Hospital rated 'Good' overall by the CQC and across all five services and assessment domains

23 October 2026

Spire Parkway Hospital has been rated 'Good' overall by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) following a comprehensive assessment carried out between 15 April and 7 May 2026.

The hospital achieved a Good rating across all five services assessed: medical care, surgery, diagnostic and imaging services, outpatients, and services for children and young people. In addition, the hospital was rated Good overall and for each service  across all five CQC assessment domains: Safe, Effective, Caring, Responsive and Well-led.

The assessment found that patients were treated with kindness and compassion and highlighted a culture of openness, learning and trust throughout the hospital. Inspectors also recognised the hospital's strong governance and risk management arrangements, noting that leaders had effective oversight of quality and patient safety. The report further praised the hospital's commitment to continuous improvement, with staff encouraged to contribute ideas through an established quality improvement programme.

Ian Thomson, Hospital Director at Spire Parkway Hospital, said: "We are delighted that the CQC has recognised the high standards of care delivered across our hospital. This achievement is particularly significant because, alongside achieving an overall Good rating, every core service and every CQC domain was also rated Good. Such consistency across all areas of the assessment demonstrates our unwavering commitment to quality and patient care.

“I would like to thank all our colleagues for their dedication, teamwork and professionalism. This achievement is a testament to their efforts and the difference they make to our patients every day."
