I am a Consultant General Surgeon with a specialist interest in upper GI surgery and reflux disorders.
I have a subspecialty interest in benign upper GI surgery particularly focusing on reflux, hiatal hernia, LINX, fundoplication, oesophageal dysmotility, dysphagia, gallstones and upper GI endoscopy.
The Reflux Clinic at Spire Manchester has been set up to cover all aspects of reflux disease, we run a multi-disciplinary team containing an Ear, Nose and Throat specialist, a gastroenterologist, and an Upper GI surgeon, along with experts in oesophageal physiology.
Our aim is to provide a bespoke management plan for all patients with reflux that will suit each patient and their needs.
Within my current consultant role at Manchester Foundation NHS Trust, I am Clinical Head of Division for Gastrointestinal Medicine and Surgery.
I graduated from The University of Leeds and subsequently trained in Yorkshire, where I attained an MD in ‘1H NMR spectrometric identification of biomarkers in renal transplantation’. I moved to Manchester for higher surgical training and then spent a period of time in The Netherlands.
