I completed my cardiology training within the Oxford and Yorkshire deaneries and achieved my Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in General Cardiology in 2015, with interventional cardiology as my subspecialty.
I then undertook advanced fellowship training in interventional and structural cardiology at King’s College Hospital, London, where I gained expertise in minimally invasive heart procedures, including transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI).
I am currently a Consultant Cardiologist and Lead for the Cardiac Catheterisation Laboratory at Manchester University Hospitals, working across Manchester Royal Infirmary and Wythenshawe Hospital. I also hold an Honorary Senior Lecturer position at the University of Manchester.
I provide assessment and treatment across all areas of general and interventional cardiology, with specialist expertise in complex coronary angioplasty, including chronic total occlusion (CTO) procedures, as well as minimally invasive heart valve treatments.
Since becoming a consultant interventional cardiologist, I have been among the higher-volume operators nationally for coronary angioplasty procedures, with a strong focus on delivering safe and effective patient care.
Alongside my clinical work, I am actively involved in research and innovation in interventional and structural cardiology. I have contributed to the development of novel cardiac devices and work collaboratively with the University of Manchester and Manchester Metropolitan University on ongoing research projects. I have also published widely in international medical journals.
