Dr Balazs Ruzsics

I am a Consultant Cardiologist at Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen University Hospital and Adjunct Assistant Professor at Medical University of South Carolina, USA with a special interest in cardiac imaging. I hold a PhD degree in cardiovascular imaging focusing on cardiac MRI (earned at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, USA).

I completed a cardiovascular imaging fellowship in cardiac CT and cardiac MRI at Medical University of South Carolina, USA and I am fully accredited in the fields of cardiac CT and cardiac MRI.

As a cardiology consultant, I started and played a major role in the development and expansion of cardiac CT/MR services at Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen University Hospitals, where I was serving as a clinical lead for cardiovascular cross sectional cardiac imaging services at Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen University Hospital sites.

I have been invited as a faculty member and lecturer to international cardiac imaging conferences (Meeting of Asian Society of Cardiac Imaging, Japan; European Society of Cardiology, Barcelona, Spain; Sao Paolo, Brazil etc.) I have held major scientific awards of North American Society of Cardiac Imaging, Society of Computed Tomography and Body MR and Radiological Society of North America.

I am one of the course directors of the Comprehensive Cardiac CT course and also co-published a 3 volume CT case DVD library which is CME (continuous medical education) accredited as a cardiac CT educational programme.

I am an active member in research committee of North American Society of Cardiac Imaging and also serve as a carrier representative in American Heart Association Leadership Committee. I have published a book of experimental cardiac imaging and co-published a 4 volume CT case web-based library which is CME (Continuous Medical Education) accredited as a cardiac CT educational programme.

As an imaging expert, I am active in cardiac imaging research and author on several international, peer viewed publications. I have been invited as a faculty member and lecturer to international cardiac imaging conferences (Meeting of Asian Society of Cardiac Imaging, Japan; European Society of Cardiology, Barcelona, Spain; Sao Paolo, Brazil etc).

In 2010, I became a consultant cardiologist at the Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen University Hospital.
