HPV vaccination service

Now available at Spire GP

The HPV vaccination service at Spire GP helps to protect against cervical cancer, genital warts and some of these other types of cancer.

The Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) is a common virus, which in the main is harmless as your body’s immune system will get rid of it. However, in some cases the HPV infection can persist and may lead to certain types of cancer, including cervical, anal or head and neck cancer.

Ideally the vaccine should be given before someone becomes sexually active, as the infection is caught through intimate sexual contact with another person who is already carrying the virus.

The HPV vaccination service offered by our private GP service, Spire GP is suitable for men and women aged between 12 and 44, subject to certain criteria – detailed below.

For those aged 12-14 a course of two vaccinations will be required, while those aged 15 – 44 will require a course of 3 vaccinations.
