Janet had a hip replacement under the care of Mr Nikhil Pradhan, Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at Spire Cheshire Hospital.

“After suffering a year of pain I went to see Mr Nikhil Pradhan, Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at Spire Cheshire Hospital for a long awaited hip replacement. I had prepared myself before surgery by doing all exercises as recommended by my physiotherapist to counteract the hip pain and I had also commenced doing the exercises recommended after the replacement.”

“I live alone but a friend stayed with me for two nights after the surgery until my daughter, who lives in London, could get away from work to look after me. She stayed for a further four nights. Then I was on my own - but certainly well enough to look after myself.”

“By the time I had my three week appointment with the physiotherapist I was walking unaided by crutches or walking stick. I was able to resume my usual activities and could sit down using a cushion to slightly elevate me. I walked a little further each day until I gradually reached my usual forty minutes per day.”

“The staff at Spire Cheshire Hospital were all devoted, efficient and friendly and I would not hesitate to recommend anyone to have a hip replacement there - it was wonderful to have my old life back.”

“A month ago I was on holiday in Rome. My friend and I walked 34 miles in four days and my friend said I was a wonderful recommendation for a hip replacement!”

Mr Nikhil Pradhan, Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon said, “Total hip replacement is one of the most successful surgeries in orthopaedics. It provides excellent pain relief and improved functional outcome to the patient. When Janet came to my clinic in Spire Cheshire Hospital she had a positive attitude towards surgery. Janet followed her pre- and post-surgical enhanced recovery protocol which along with minimally invasive hip replacement gave her an excellent outcome. I am pleased with her outcome and wish her 'best wishes' for the future.”
