Specialising in Robotic Hip and Knee Replacement
I am a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon with more than 25 years of experience specialising in the treatment of hip and knee conditions. My practice focuses on helping patients overcome arthritis, sports injuries, cartilage damage, and joint degeneration so they can return to an active, pain-free lifestyle.
As a recognised UK leader in advanced (Robotic - MAKO / ROSA) joint replacement, I have spent over 14 years pioneering computer-assisted and robotic surgery. In 2013, I became the first surgeon in the UK to perform the computer-navigated i-ASSIST minimally invasive knee replacement. Today, I maintain one of the largest series of these cases in the country.
My approach to patient care - I believe that every patient deserves a treatment plan tailored precisely to their unique lifestyle and goals. By combining proven surgical expertise with the latest medical technology, I am able to offer highly personalised care. My primary focus is always to achieve the best possible long-term outcomes while ensuring less pain, smaller incisions, and a much faster recovery for you.
To provide the highest level of precision and enhanced recovery, I routinely perform advanced robotic-assisted surgeries at Spire hospitals: MAKO Robotic System: Available for personalised knee replacement planning and surgery at Spire Manchester Hospital and ROSA Robotic System: Utilised for high-precision robotic knee replacements at Spire Cheshire Hospital.
Joint Preservation and Non-Surgical Treatments. Surgery is not always the first step. I have extensive expertise in managing early arthritis, particularly in younger, active patients. I offer a comprehensive range of joint preservation and minimally invasive treatments to delay or avoid major surgery, including: advanced knee injections (including nStride, Osteonil Plus, Arthrosamid), knee arthroscopy (keyhole surgery to repair cartilage and tissue damage) and tailored non-surgical management plans.
