What happens if my tests show something concerning?

Your cardiologist will explain findings and recommend clear next steps - this could include lifestyle advice, medication, further tests (CT, stress testing, Holter) or referral for treatment. We can fast-track these within Spire Healthcare.

Do I need a GP referral?

No - this service is available for self-pay patients to book directly. We can also accept referrals from Healthcare Professionals and Spire GP.

How long does each appointment take?

Diagnostics appointment: typically 60–90 minutes (ECG, Echo, bloods). Consultant review: 20–30 minutes. Times may vary by site.

Can I get results the same day?

Diagnostic results (e.g., Echocardiogram, ECG and blood tests) will be reviewed by a consultant cardiologist and available at your second appointment; usually within a week, to ensure a thorough assessment.

What age do I need to be to book an appointment?

The check is available from 18 years, but most suitable for men and women aged 40+. Individual suitability will be assessed at booking.

Will my insurance cover this?

The package is designed for self-pay patients; some insurers may cover tests if clinically indicated - please check with your provider before booking.

What should I bring to my appointment?

It's useful if you bring a list of current medications, and any previous cardiac test results (if you have them).

What if I have chest pain now?

If you have chest pain or symptoms of a heart attack, call 999 immediately

What is deep vein thrombosis (DVT)?
