I have NHS clinics in Gastroenterology at University Hospital Llandough in Cardiff. Patients seen in these include those with abdominal pain, heartburn, indigestion like symptoms, diarrhoea, anaemia, inflammatory bowel disease (ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s) etc.

I have a special interest and expertise in new modalities of image enhanced and therapeutic endoscopy and colonoscopy including Narrow Band Imaging and Contrast enhanced endoscopy. I have trained in Japan at the National Cancer Centre Hospital in Tokyo in removal of complex bowel polyps and early gastrointestinal cancers through the endoscope and colonoscope (EMR and ESD).

I am the Lead Screening Colonoscopist for the Bowel Screening Program Wales in Cardiff and Vale NHS Trust and the QA Lead for Colonoscopy for Bowel Screening Wales.

I am the SE Wales lead facilitator for the Welsh Endoscopy Training Network and teach on advanced Endoscopy and Colonoscopy Courses for Consultants and Trainees in England and Wales.

I have a Clinical and Research interests in families/ individuals with familial forms of bowel cancer, barrett’s oesophagus, early gastro-intestinal cancer and removal through endoscopy and colonoscopy, polyposis syndromes, bowel cancer screening and bowel polyps. Current research studies include those on surveillance of cases with familial bowel cancer, new techniques in identification and assessment.

In my personal life, I enjoy rock climbing, real ale and music.
