I was appointed as a Consultant Orthopaedic and Sarcoma surgeon at University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust and the East Midlands Sarcoma Service in 2007.

I have experience in the treatment of a wide variety of hip and knee conditions, bone and soft tissue tumours and trauma. I have published extensively in these fields and have been awarded my MD for research into skeletal metastases in breast cancer. In 2017, I was made an Honorary Associate Professor in Cancer Studies by the University of Leicester and promoted to Honorary Professor in 2020.

I graduated from the London Hospital Medical College in 1992. I undertook basic surgical training in London and East Anglia and continued my orthopaedic training in Leicester and Yorkshire. After passing the FRCS (Tr & Orth) in 2004, I completed a one year fellowship in Sydney, Australia under the expert tuition of Dr Paul Stalley, a world-renowned sarcoma surgeon. I completed a further one year fellowship in lower limb joint reconstruction and tumour surgery at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, Stanmore.

I regularly lecture nationally and internationally on sarcomas, skeletal metastases and desmoid fibromatosis.
