Professional profile

I have been a consultant urological surgeon since 1st October 2006. As well as providing a general urology service I sub-specialise in complex stone surgery and laser prostate surgery (TURP) and therefore I receive referrals for such complex surgery from colleagues within Leicester and from the East Midlands.

I specialise in general urology with specific interest in stone surgery and laser prostate surgery (TURP). I also specialise in performing transperineal template prostate biopsies for the diagnosis of prostate cancer.

I have performed over 800 laser stone surgeries, more than 700 laser prostate surgeries as well as in excess of 500 transperineal template prostate biopsies.

From August 2009 until 1st April 2015 I was the lead urological surgeon at University Hospitals of Leicester. Over the past four years I have been the Medical Advisory Committee urology representative at Spire Leicester Hospital.

I am committed to research and in particular prostate cancer research. As such, since March 2012 I have been a visiting professor at Van Geest Cancer Centre, Nottingham Trent University.

I am an examiner for the FRCS (Urol) examination and am a Royal College of Surgeons Assessor for urology consultant appointments.

I am committed to education and regularly give academic lectures on various urology topics, both at a regional and national forums.
