I am Consultant Cardiologist at Spire Harrogate Clinic. I have 15 years experience of seeing patients with and at risk of cardiovascular diseases. I specialise in general cardiology, heart failure, hypertension, ischaemic heart disease, arrhythmias, atrial fibrillation, heart valve disease, non-invasive investigations.
I am Professor of Cardiovascular Medicine and Honorary Consultant Cardiologist at the University of Leeds and Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.
In 2023 I was commissioned by the UK Public Inquiry into Covid-19 to serve as the Independent Expert for Cardiovascular Disease for the Impact of Covid-19 Pandemic on Healthcare Systems in the 4 Nations of the UK (Module 3). I Co-Chair The Lancet Regional Health – Europe Commission on Inequalities and Disparities in Cardiovascular Health.
I have published over 350 research manuscripts in peer reviewed journals including JAMA, Lancet, BMJ, EHJ amounting to nearly 100,000 citations, and I have a large following on social media.
