Some of the principal treatments carried out by Professor Ben Burton at Spire include:
I specialise in cataract surgery and treatment of retinal diseases. I studied at Cambridge University before training at the world-famous Moorfields Eye Hospital.
Cataract surgery is one of the most reliable and highly successful operations. I have been performing cataract surgery for more than 15 years and have a very low rate of complications. As well as offering cataract surgery I have extensive experience of treating retinal problems such as wet age related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy and retinal vein occlusions. I have been involved in numerous research trials using the newest drugs available to treat these conditions giving me early access to some of the most up to date information available in what is a rapidly changing field. There are a variety of options to discuss depending on whether your priority is to be free of glasses or to minimise the risk of post-operative visual problems like glare and halos.
My reputation is built on excellent visual outcomes putting safety first resulting in extremely high patient satisfaction. If safety, a successful track record, and excellent clinical outcomes are important to you, then please ask your GP or optician to refer you to my clinic. If this is not possible please ring my secretary directly on 01493 453054.
In 2017 I was appointed as visiting professor at the University of East Anglia.
