MBChB, FRCS, FRCS(Ed), MD
I am a Consultant Endocrine Surgeon with over 25 years’ experience, specialising in conditions affecting the thyroid, parathyroid and adrenal glands.
I regularly assess and treat patients with concerns such as thyroid nodules, goitre and hyperparathyroidism, as well as neck lumps. I perform both thyroid and parathyroid surgery using advanced techniques, including nerve monitoring and intraoperative hormone measurement, to support safe surgery and the best possible outcomes.
Over the course of my career, I have carried out a high volume of these procedures, developing a strong level of expertise in managing both straightforward and complex cases.
Alongside my clinical work, I have held a number of senior leadership roles, including serving as President of the British Association of Endocrine and Thyroid Surgeons and as Head of School of Surgery for the North West. I am also actively involved in maintaining high standards in surgical practice and training.
I monitor my surgical outcomes through national databases, ensuring quality and consistency in the care I provide.
I understand that concerns around the thyroid or parathyroid glands can feel worrying, so I aim to provide clear explanations and reassurance, helping patients feel informed and confident throughout their treatment.
