Professional profile

I have extensive experience in colposcopy and was one of the country's first to start loop cone biopsy of the cervix under local analgesia as an out patient procedure.

I have been practicing in gyneacology and obstetrics for the last 30 years. I am British Society of Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology (BSCCP) recognised and lead colposcopists and colposcopy trainer at present and professional clinical adviser for colposcopy for Public Health England North. This involves me going to different colposcopy units in the country as a quality assurance as a professional clinical adviser for quality assurance.

I am a member and recognized specialist for vulva diseases by British Society of Vulvo Vaginal Disease (BSVVD). I am an advanced menopause specialist recognized by British Menopause Society (BMS). I am on the BMS menopause specialist register. I am cognitive behavior therapist for menopause symptoms certified by British Menopause Society.

Personal Profile

Married with two boys. I am very much involved in improving global women health and recently raised money for Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists(RCOG) global woman health project by climbing Mount Rinjani in Indonesia. I am involved in starting cervical screening projects in lower and middle income countries and have just come back for Uganda training nurses and doctors in cervical screening and treatment. I am very keen to raise awareness of cervical cancer and screen to prevent death by cervical cancer in lower and middle income countries. I am now planning to continue this project in a remote part of the world called Ladakh in India.
