BSc (Hons)
I qualified in 2017 with a 1st Class Honours Physiotherapy degree from Sheffield Hallam University. Since then, I have had experience working as a musculoskeletal physiotherapist in the NHS at Barts Health and St George’s University Hospital Trusts in London, managing a varied caseload of different acute and chronic musculoskeletal conditions. I then spent a year working in Hertfordshire with NHS patients based in multiple locations and have now worked at Spire Harpenden for the last four years.
I am a certified APPI mat work Pilates instructor and enjoy incorporating this into my treatments where applicable. I offer a range of treatment options for patients including exercise prescription, manual therapy, taping and shockwave therapy. I also hold a diploma in soft tissue massage which I use in clinic, and previously used at the Nottingham Marathon and with England Rugby.
At Spire Harpenden, I enjoy assessing and rehabilitating patients post-operatively following various surgeries, and I also treat a wide range of acute and chronic musculoskeletal conditions following self, GP or consultant referrals.
Some of the principal treatments carried out by Mrs Kate Allen at Spire include:
