Mrs Dawn Shotton

Dietitian

MSc, BSc Registered Dietitian

I am a nutrition and dietetic expert with significant clinical experience in both private and NHS health care environments. Since qualifying in 1991, I have enjoyed providing and subsequently managing aspects of dietetic services. I have specialised in weight management since 2000, leading on specialist weight management services and heading a bariatric service in the NHS.

I now enjoy working full time in the field as a freelance dietitian, supporting people with weight management concerns. My broad experience has proven useful in helping many people with weight management. Combined with my counselling qualification, I believe my approach focuses on the person and circumstances as well as the desired outcome.

I have specialised in weight management since 2000. I now work closely in bariatric (weight loss) surgery and also offer ongoing support for people who need advice with stalled weight loss, pregnancy and vitamin and mineral advice post surgery.

I enjoy outdoor activities with my husband - we go on long distance walks and have challenged ourselves to walking all the Wainrights by 2025 - we still have quite a few to conquer! I have two adult children at university and who keep me up to date and on my toes with the online developments that are required these days!
