I am an experienced hip and knee specialist working in full-time private practice, with a particular focus on robot-assisted joint replacement surgery.

I perform MAKO robot-assisted hip, knee and partial knee replacements using advanced technology designed to support precision during surgery. To date, I have carried out more than 1,500 robot-assisted hip and knee replacements, alongside more than 2,000 conventional hip and knee replacements. My current practice is almost entirely focused on robot-assisted joint replacement surgery.

I graduated from the University of Aberdeen in 1996 and completed my orthopaedic training on the North West rotation, gaining the FRCS (Orth). I then undertook a year-long specialist fellowship in Vancouver, Canada, at the University of British Columbia. I was also awarded the British Orthopaedic Foundation Travelling Fellowship, which included visits to the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota and the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York.

Since moving into full-time private practice in 2017, I have developed a dedicated team focused on providing responsive, consistent and personalised patient care. My approach is centred on helping patients make informed decisions and ensuring treatment plans are tailored to their individual needs and goals.
