I am a consultant ophthalmologist with over 20 years’ experience, seeing patients at Spire for the assessment and treatment of glaucoma, raised eye pressure and cataracts. My aim is always to provide clear advice, modern treatment options and care that is tailored to each patient’s individual needs.
Alongside my work at Spire, I have been the Glaucoma Lead at Aintree University Hospital since 2012, where my practice focuses on the long‑term management of glaucoma and complex eye pressure conditions. I have a particular interest in minimally invasive glaucoma surgery, non‑penetrating procedures and laser‑based treatments, which can be effective in controlling eye pressure while supporting recovery and quality of life.
I also have extensive experience in cataract surgery, including more complex cases. This includes patients with astigmatism and those who wish to reduce their dependence on glasses through the use of premium lens implants. I take time to discuss the available options so patients feel informed and confident about their treatment choices.
In addition to my clinical work, I am actively involved in surgical training and regularly teach other consultants and senior trainees through Royal College‑endorsed surgical masterclasses. I am currently taking time away from NHS clinical practice while working as Medical Director of a glaucoma implant company, giving me valuable insight into the latest developments in eye surgery and technology.
I live in West Kirby with my wife and two children.
