I am a General Surgeon with specialist referral practice in laparoscopy, colorectal and gastrointestinal surgery. My surgical repertoire also includes hernia repair, varicose vein surgery, vasectomies, lumps and bumps, gastoscopy and laparoscopic cholecystectomies.

I qualified in 1984 from Ninewells Hospital and Medical School, Dundee. My basic surgical training was in North West England (SHO) and Edinburgh (registrar), before returning to Dundee for my MD and Senior Registrar Training. I was appointed as a Consultant in South Tyneside in 1999.
