I qualified from University College, London in 1991.
I then completed my basic surgical training at the Royal United Hospital in Bath and also conducted research into anti-scarring agents.
I then spent six years in London completing my higher surgical training. I was awarded my fellowship in Australia in 2002 following training focusing on skin cancer, microsurgery and cosmetic surgery.
Between 2002 and 2006 I worked as a Consultant Plastic Surgeon at Charing Cross Hospital in London where I also established a successful private practice.

I live in South Gloucestershire with my wife Deborah and two children, Emily and Joseph. I am involved in charity work as part of the Mobile International Surgical Team (MIST) - a group of surgeons who help at times of natural disasters around the world.
