Virtual consultations:
I am a Consultant in Gynaecology and Keyhole Surgery at Spire Norwich Hospital and the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital. I practice general gynaecology and specialise in minimally invasive treatments to common gynaecological conditions, colposcopy and the investigation and treatment of women with possible gynaecological cancer.
I offer up-to-date methods for treating common gynaecological problems, such as menstrual irregularities including post-menopausal bleeding, fibroids and ovarian cysts. Menopausal health and strategies to maintain a healthy lifestyle are also areas I focus on. Many approaches involve investigation and treatment as an outpatient. Where needed, the use of minimal access surgical techniques, enables a more rapid recovery and return to normal activities.
I value the role of both surgical innovations and medial advances, in areas such as HRT, to improve the quality of life for women. I have a keen interest in providing patient choice through clinical innovation, such as laparoscopic (keyhole) hysterectomy and individualised, women-centered, treatment plans.
I trained in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in Nottingham, following which I completed a three year sub-speciality training programme in Gynaecological Oncology and advanced laparoscopic surgery. This included a research MD in molecular prognostic markers in ovarian cancer.
I am a senior lecturer at the University of East Anglia and am also the course director for a national training course relating to the development of advanced laparoscopic surgery. I maintain an active interest in research through the delivery of a number of national and international clinical trials.
