Specialises in
I am a Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising in all conditions of the foot and ankle. I provide a comprehensive service, dealing with all pathologies of the adult foot and ankle, looking to approach problems pragmatically considering the individual patient’s circumstances and needs. I work closely with a team of outstanding professional colleagues, committed to providing a patient-focused experience.
My special interests include minimally invasive foot surgery, sports injuries management, arthroscopic/keyhole surgery, ankle joint replacement and complex deformity correction including revision procedures.
I graduated from the University of Leeds Medical School in 2007 with honours. I then completed my higher surgical training in the Yorkshire and Humber Postgraduate Deanery under the expert supervision of internationally respected orthopaedic surgeons. I became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS T&O) at the first attempt in 2016 and was thereby enrolled onto the specialist register for trauma and orthopaedic surgery in 2017.
I was awarded the British Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society Travelling Fellowship allowing me to complete my specialist training in modern foot and ankle surgical techniques in the prestigious North Sydney Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Centre (Australia) between 2018 - 2019. To complement this I undertook a Diploma in Sports and Exercise Medicine (PGDip SEM) at the prestigious University of Bath. Taken together, I have the experience and knowledge to focus on the holistic management of the athlete and provide the highest quality sports injury management.
My approach to health, healthcare, surgery and post-operative recovery have all been influenced by my Australian experience. Including a relentless focus on improving quality of life, enhanced recovery after surgery and, where applicable, rapid return to work and fitness. I endeavour to provide my patients with the highest quality advice and service.
When I returned to the UK, I was appointed to a substantive consultant post as a Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon at the Mid Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust.

Until recently I played rugby at club level on a regular basis, however, I don’t recover from the injuries anywhere near as quickly as I once did and, with a young family, my priorities and availability have changed. Now I enjoy the occasional game at the annual doctors vs students residents game. I enjoy keeping fit by cycling, swimming and running. We also enjoy walking, with the Yorkshire Sculpture Park being one of our favourite places.
