I am a Consultant General and Colorectal Surgeon in Worcester, specialising in advanced laparoscopic (keyhole) colorectal surgery. I have a busy surgical practice in Worcestershire, with a particular focus on the treatment of bowel cancer and rectal cancer.
I am regarded as a leading expert in complex rectal cancer surgery and aim to offer minimally invasive procedures wherever appropriate. Over 90% of my patients who require major bowel surgery undergo keyhole colorectal surgery, which can reduce postoperative pain, shorten hospital stays and support faster recovery.
My bowel cancer surgery outcomes, which are audited nationally, demonstrate that I am a high‑volume colorectal surgeon with excellent results, consistently meeting and exceeding national standards.
I completed my surgical training in Bristol and the West Midlands, followed by advanced training in laparoscopic colorectal surgery at leading centres in the UK and Europe. This included a travelling fellowship at a renowned laparoscopic gastrointestinal unit in Barcelona, where I gained extensive experience in complex minimally invasive bowel surgery.
I was appointed Consultant Colorectal Surgeon at Worcestershire Royal Hospital in September 2010, and I continue to play a key role in delivering high‑quality colorectal care across the region.
I see patients with a wide range of colorectal and general surgical conditions, including cancer, benign colorectal conditions and inflammatory bowel disease.
I am a leading UK expert in THD (Transanal Haemorrhoidal Dearterialisation), a minimally invasive surgical treatment for haemorrhoids, and I am one of the most experienced THD surgeons in the country.
I also run the first and only laser treatment service in the region for common perianal conditions, offering modern, less invasive treatment options with faster recovery.
My general surgical practice includes laparoscopic repair of all common types of hernias, including inguinal, femoral, umbilical and incisional hernias.
I am a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (FRCSEd) and a Member of the Association of Coloproctology of Great Britain and Ireland (ACPGBI).
I see private patients at the Worcestershire Bowel Clinic, based at Spire South Bank Hospital, Worcester. I welcome referrals for the assessment and treatment of bowel cancer, rectal cancer, haemorrhoids, hernias and other colorectal conditions.
