Some of the principal treatments carried out by Mr Stephen Brearley at Spire include:
I have a broad-based general surgical practice both at Spire London East Hospital, Essex and Whipps Cross University Hospital, East London - my NHS base. This includes abdominal procedures such as laparoscopic cholecystectomy and hernias, as well as a substantial amount of vascular surgery (varicose veins, arterial bypasses and aneurysms). I regularly undertake thoracoscopic sympathectomies for excessive sweating of the hands and arm pits (hyperhidrosis).
I have an interest in paediatric surgery, having trained in this field at the Birmingham Children's Hospital. I am a firm believer in outlining all of the treatment options to the patient, and involving patients in decision making about their care.
Hernia repair surgery
Special Clinical Interests: Laser treatment (EVLT), Hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating), Aneurysms, Carotid artery disease and Laparoscopic cholecystectomy.
