Specialises in
I am a Consultant Colorectal Surgeon specialising in minimally invasive and robotic surgery for colorectal cancer and benign conditions. I was one of the surgeons who introduced robotic colorectal cancer surgery at University Hospitals Birmingham and have extensive experience in advanced laparoscopic and robotic techniques for colon and rectal surgery. My practice focuses on modern, evidence-based surgical approaches designed to improve recovery, reduce complications and achieve excellent long-term outcomes.
I perform a full range of colorectal procedures, including diverticular disease treatment, robotic and laparoscopic bowel resections, and also offer minimally invasive and robotic hernia repair and endoscopic treatment for pilonidal sinus disease. My outcomes in robotic colorectal surgery have been published in peer-reviewed literature and demonstrate excellent clinical results.
Alongside my clinical practice, I am actively involved in training surgeons in robotic colorectal surgery and serve as faculty on national and international courses. I am a founding member and key organiser of the Midlands Robotic Colorectal Symposium, one of the UK’s largest meetings dedicated to robotic colorectal surgery. I also hold an academic role as Visiting Senior Lecturer at the University of Portsmouth and serve as Clinical Governance Lead for General and Colorectal Surgery at Good Hope Hospital.
