I am a dual fellowship trained Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon with a special interest and expertise in hand, wrist and elbow conditions. My ethos is to treat every patient on an individual basis and to manage each condition in a stepwise and logical manner.

I will provide expert guidance and detailed explanations as to the relative merits of each available treatment option, be it surgical or non-surgical. Over 75% of the patients I see in clinic do not require surgery. This may be because the problem is self-limiting, or that appropriate physiotherapy is all that is needed. These treatments might include splinting, massage, stretching exercises, warm wax baths, acupuncture, ultrasound and shockwave therapy. Some conditions can be cured either temporarily or permanently by steroid injection. A small proportion of patients may then go on to require surgery.

I treat almost all upper limb conditions, including those requiring specialist nerve, tendon, bone and arterial grafting. I also use a microscope or magnification loupes for the majority of the operations I perform, enabling me to take special care of the small vital structures present in the hand, wrist and elbow.

I perform all hand, wrist and elbow surgery, carpal tunnel primary and revision surgery, other peripheral nerve entrapment, Dupuytren’s open fasciectomy and minimally invasive treatment (needle fasciotomy and Xiapex), arthritis and joint replacement surgery, ligament and tendon reconstruction, trauma and sports injuries, wrist and elbow keyhole surgery. As well as treating all common upper limb disorders I also specialise in more complex conditions that may require ligament reconstruction, tendon transfer or vascularised grafting techniques.
