I have spent more than 25 years building extensive experience across all areas of eye care, with particular expertise in cataract and squint surgery. Throughout my career, I have focused on providing safe, thorough and personalised treatment, and I take great pride in delivering high standards of care for every patient I see. I am also proud to have served the NHS for 32 years.
Originally from Chester, I studied medicine at Sheffield University, graduating in 1993. During my training, I completed an influential elective placement at the Krishnankoil Rural Eye Hospital in South India and was honoured to receive the national Duke-Elder Prize in 1993.
Following medical school, I undertook 10 years of specialist ophthalmic training. This included working as a Senior House Officer at the Tennent Institute of Ophthalmology in Glasgow and as a Specialist Registrar at Manchester Royal Eye Hospital. I also gained additional fellowship experience at King’s College Hospital and St Thomas’ Hospital in London.
As a Cheshire-based Consultant Ophthalmologist in private practice for the past 10 years, I offer a comprehensive general ophthalmic service for a wide range of eye conditions. Alongside cataract and squint surgery, I have sub-specialist interests in glaucoma treatment, oculo-mobility disorders and neuro-ophthalmology, which focuses on vision problems related to the nervous system.
I understand that concerns about your eyesight can feel worrying, and I aim to provide clear advice, careful assessment and treatment plans tailored to your individual needs.
