Mr Shahzad Sadiq completed his specialist orthopaedic training in Manchester and London. He has extensive experience in the treatment of complex trauma patients, in particular non-union of long bones. He carried out his AO Trauma Fellowship in Canada. Mr Sadiq has a keen interest in the management of bone infection and infected arthroplasty of the hip and knee. He believes that the cemented arthroplasty is still the "gold" standard for hip and knee surgery, having the longest and safest track record. His research interests are fracture healing and articular cartilage injury, fragility fractures and computer navigation.
Mr Sadiq has an outside interest in participation of Trauma Teams from UK to disaster zones.
Mr Sadiq specialises in the use of nails, external fixators, Ilizarov and ring fixators to treat difficult fractures. He also had extensive training in lower limb joint arthroplasty and revision surgery in Wrightington and at the Hammersmith hospital, London. He has specialist training in both cemented and uncemented hip arthroplasty and the use of uncemented long stems in revision arthroplasty.
Special Clinical Interests: Trauma surgery, long bone fractures, malunion, nonunion, infection, management of fragility fractures and outcome after hip and knee arthroplasty.
