I aim to provide the highest quality foot and ankle service in my chosen elective sub-specialty area.
I specialise in managing a comprehensive range of foot and ankle conditions, including achilles tendonitis, achilles tendon rupture and other tendon injuries. I treat all types of foot and ankle fractures, including calcaneal fractures, acute and chronic fractures, as well as non-union, malunion and stress fractures. My practice also includes ankle arthroscopy for impingement, ankle ligament reconstruction, ankle osteoarthritis, ankle fusion (both arthroscopic and open) and ankle replacement. In addition, I manage forefoot conditions including hallux (great toe) correction or fusion and lesser toe deformities, as well as midfoot and hindfoot arthritis, including tibialis posterior and peroneal tendon dysfunction, plantar fasciitis and flat foot. I also treat a wide range of sports-related foot and ankle injuries, including acute and chronic ankle sprains, osteochondral lesions, and anterior and posterior ankle impingement.
After undergoing extensive training (in general orthopaedics and trauma) I currently work as a specialist orthopaedic foot and ankle consultant at the New Queen Elizabeth Hospital of The University of Birmingham.
I have a keen interest in total ankle replacement and have undergone specialist training in Liestal, Switzerland. To add to this I have undertaken advanced training in ankle arthroscopy at the Amsterdam Medical Centre Hospital in Amsterdam, a world-renowned Sports Injury Centre. My specialism is in arthroscopic lateral ligament reconstruction of the ankle joint which is done only in a handful of centres in the country.
I'm actively involved in the teaching and training of junior doctors as part of the West Midlands Postgraduate Orthopaedic Training Scheme. I have published articles in International Journals and presented papers at numerous national and international conferences.
