MBChB, MSc, FRCS (Tr&Orth), PhD
I am a specialist hip and knee replacement surgeon with more than 10 years of experience treating patients with hip and knee pain. My practice focuses on total hip replacement, total knee replacement and partial knee replacement surgery, with particular expertise in robotic-assisted joint replacement procedures.
I have a specialist interest in complex primary and revision hip replacement surgery and regularly assess patients with painful or problematic hip replacements. I also see patients with hip and knee pain who may require specialist assessment, those considering joint replacement surgery and patients seeking a second opinion regarding a previous diagnosis or operation.
I offer total hip replacement, total knee replacement and partial knee replacement surgery using both robotic-assisted and conventional techniques, allowing treatment to be tailored to each patient's individual needs. As a high-volume surgeon, I am committed to delivering consistently high-quality care with a focus on safe, predictable outcomes and excellent patient experience.
I graduated from the University of Leeds and completed my surgical training throughout Yorkshire, gaining extensive experience in complex hip and knee surgery. Following specialist training, I undertook advanced fellowship training at the internationally renowned Wrightington Hospital, further developing my expertise in joint replacement surgery.
My approach is centred on providing personalised, evidence-based advice and treatment plans that reflect each patient's symptoms, lifestyle and goals. I believe in taking the time to ensure patients fully understand their condition, treatment options and expected outcomes, enabling them to make informed decisions about their care.
Alongside my clinical practice, I have a strong academic and research interest in hip and knee replacement surgery, particularly the prevention and management of complications. I have authored more than 40 peer-reviewed publications and orthopaedic textbook chapters and have presented prize-winning research at national and international meetings. I recently completed a PhD at the University of Leeds investigating periprosthetic fractures following hip replacement.
I am an Honorary Senior Lecturer at the University of Leeds and remain actively involved in teaching and surgical training. I also serve on the Executive Committee of the British Hip Society, contributing to its work in education, research and professional development to help advance standards of care in hip replacement surgery.
