Specialises in
I am a consultant ear, nose and throat (ENT) surgeon at Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge, specialising in rhinology, sinus and skull base surgery and facial plastic surgery. I have extensive experience in managing complex nose, sinus and skull base conditions, having previously led the West of Scotland endoscopic skull base and sinonasal oncology surgery tertiary service before joining the Addenbrooke’s skull base team.
I completed fellowship training in advanced endoscopic sinus and minimally invasive skull base surgery at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada, accredited by the American Rhinological Society and North American Skull Base Society. Over my career, I have performed a substantial number of complex endoscopic sinus operations, treating a wide range of problems including nasal obstruction, sinus infections, nasal polyps, deviated septum, nasal deformities, and complex tumours of the sinuses and skull base.
I also have a specialist interest in functional and aesthetic rhinoplasty and nasal reconstruction, and have led a tertiary referral service for complex nasal reconstruction following trauma or cancer surgery. My facial plastic training was undertaken under leading experts in Glasgow as well as observerships in London and New York, allowing me to combine reconstructive precision with an aesthetic focus on natural results. I am a current council member for the British Society of Facial Plastic Surgery.
Alongside my clinical work, I am actively involved in research, teaching, and surgical training. I co-direct the Cambridge advanced rhinology fellowship programme, have published widely in my field and previously served as associate postgraduate dean for ENT and Neurosurgery Simulation Training in Scotland.
I specialise in nose, sinus and facial surgery, treating both common and complex conditions. My work covers the full range of sinus and nasal problems including sinus infections, nasal obstruction, nasal polyps, and breathing difficulties. I also care for patients with nasal and sinus tumours, using minimally invasive endoscopic techniques through the nostrils to remove growths and repair problems at the base of the skull - avoiding external cuts wherever possible. I am experienced in managing rare skull base and orbital conditions, including those that affect the area between the nose, eyes and brain, often working alongside neurosurgeons and eye surgeons. In addition, I have a strong interest in facial plastic and reconstructive surgery, offering functional and cosmetic rhinoplasty, surgery to correct nasal injuries, and complex nasal reconstruction following trauma or cancer surgery.
