I am a Consultant Plastic, Hand and Nerve Surgeon with over 13 years of dedicated experience in plastic surgery. My clinical practice and research focus on hand and peripheral nerve conditions, particularly traumatic brachial plexus injuries and cubital tunnel syndrome.
My career combines clinical care with academic research. Following NIHR Academic Clinical Training, I hold academic appointments at the University of Leeds alongside my role as a Consultant at Leeds Teaching Hospitals. I also serve as Co-Director of the EXSEL Scholarship Program at the University of Leeds.
Alongside my clinical work, I have held a number of national research leadership roles. I am the Surgical Specialty Lead for Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the Royal College of Surgeons of England. I have also contributed to the UK Hand Registry Committee and the British Society for Surgery of the Hand (BSSH) Research Committee, and I am part of the senior leadership team of the Reconstructive Surgery Trials Network.
I have also completed formal training in medicolegal report writing for both personal injury and clinical negligence cases.
I specialise in hand and peripheral nerve surgery, treating a wide range of conditions that affect hand function, movement and sensation. This includes common nerve compression conditions such as carpal tunnel syndrome and cubital tunnel syndrome, as well as more complex nerve injuries.
My work includes nerve and tendon transfer procedures designed to restore function, joint replacement and fusion surgery of the hand, and the treatment of common hand conditions such as Dupuytren’s disease, trigger finger and ganglions.
Over the last 15 years, I have performed more than 5,000 plastic, hand and nerve surgery procedures. Within the NHS alone, this includes nearly 1,000 hand operations and 300 nerve surgeries. My aim is to provide personalised care, helping patients understand their condition and treatment options so they can make informed decisions about their care.
