Mr Rikin Trivedi

I am a Consultant Neurosurgeon specialising in complex spine and neurosurgical conditions, practising at Spire Cambridge Lea Hospital. I provide expert, patient-centred care for individuals across Cambridge and the surrounding areas, focusing on delivering advanced, evidence-based treatment for a wide range of spinal and neurological disorders.

I regularly assess and treat patients presenting with back pain and lumbar disc problems, neck pain, cervical disc problems and disc prolapse. My approach combines thorough clinical assessment with tailored treatment planning, ensuring that each patient receives care suited to their specific condition and lifestyle. Where surgery is required, I offer cervical and lumbar discectomy, cervical disc replacement and spinal fusion, alongside keyhole spine surgery and minimally invasive spine surgery techniques designed to support faster recovery and reduced disruption to normal life.

I have significant experience managing complex spine surgery cases, including spinal stenosis, pars defect, spondylolithesis (slipped bones), spinal tumours and syringomyelia

In addition to my spinal practice, I provide general neurosurgery and specialise in cerebrovascular and skull base surgery, offering comprehensive care for a broad spectrum of neurological conditions.

My research interests to date have been in developing novel imaging techniques for assessment of vascular disease and have evolved to evaluate novel strategies in the treatment of spinal disorders.

I have supervised numerous research student projects and currently co-supervise a PhD student thesis. I have trained fellows in both cerebrovascular and spine surgery, and am currently Co-Director of the Cambridge Spine Fellowship.
