I am a Consultant Hepatobiliary and General Surgeon at St James's University Hospital, Leeds. I specialize in surgery for conditions affecting the liver, gallbladder and biliary system. Annually, I perform a high-volume of liver resections for primary liver/biliary cancers along with metastatic (secondary) and benign disease. In addition I provide a referral service to the region for more complex benign conditions affecting the gallbladder and bile ducts. I routinely perform surgery for gallstones (cholecystectomy) and abdominal wall hernia surgery.
I believe in delivering high-quality, individualised patient centered care and will take time to discuss your symptoms, diagnosis and potential treatment options with you to allow you to make a fully informed decision.
I graduated from the University of Leeds and undertook post graduate training in the region. This included a period of research looking at enhanced recovery following surgery culminating in the ward of my Doctorate of Medicine. Following completion of training I undertook a two year fellowship focusing on liver transplantation and advanced hepatobiliary surgery before being appointed to my current role.
