I qualified in dentistry in 1990 and medicine in 1997. I was awarded the fellowship in dental surgery (RCS Edin) in 1994 and the fellowship in surgery (RCS Eng) in 1999. Within my private practice, I consult on all aspects of oral and maxillofacial surgery both in adults and children.
I treat all aspects of surgery of the jaws including wisdom teeth, impacted teeth and jaw cysts. I perform dental implant surgery including bone graft and treat ulcers, white/red patches. I treat facial pain and TMJ disorders, facial trauma, facial asymmetry or disproportion.
I have been a consultant oral and maxillofacial surgeon at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital and Birmingham Children's Hospital for 10 years. I trained in a number of units in the UK and was a craniofacial fellow in Birmingham Children's Hospital before completing my paediatric maxillofacial fellowship in The Royal Melbourne Children's Hospital, Australia. I was appointed as a consultant in 2005 and my specialist areas of interest include adult and paediatric facial deformity.
I am a honorary clinical lecturer in medicine at the University of Birmingham and a examiner of MFDS at the Royal College of Surgeons of England.
