I was appointed as a Consultant surgeon at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary in 2002. Subsequently, I moved to Edinburgh in April 2007 when I was appointed as a Consultant General and Hepato-pancreato-biliary surgeon at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh.
I qualified from Madras Medical College, Madras (now Chennai), India. After initial postgraduate surgical training and obtaining higher degree at Stanley Medical College, Madras, India, I moved to the UK. Most of my higher surgical training was in the north of Scotland based at Aberdeen. I underwent training in wide range of general and GI surgery. At the later part of training I focused in surgery involving the bile duct, gallbladder, liver and pancreas. I perform both cancer and non-cancer surgery.
I am involved in teaching undergraduate students and training postgraduate doctors. I am a member of various professional associations. I have interest in minimally invasive surgery.
