Virtual consultations:
I am currently a full time substantive consultant in the Surrey and Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust. My clinical work covers the spectrum of adult cervical and lumbar spinal pathology with specific interest in minimally invasive (keyhole) spine surgery and day case surgery.
I sub-specialise in the treatment of spinal conditions including disc prolapse, spinal stenosis and cervical myelopathy with minimally invasive (keyhole) techniques for decompression, discectomy, spinal fusion etc. This follows my research, training and peer-reviewed international presentations and publications focused on spinal surgery.
During my orthopaedic and spinal training, I was affiliated with and trained in some of the top university hospitals including Oxford and Cambridge. My trauma and orthopaedic training was undertaken at East of England Deanery with Cambridge University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust (Addenbrooke's) as the base hospital. I then undertook spinal fellowships from three prestigious university hospitals; Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital, Oxford University Hospital and Cambridge (Addenbrooke's) University Hospital.
I am a member of the research committee of British Association of Spinal Surgeons (BASS). I am the lead author on the guidelines prepared on management of DVT in spinal surgery for BASS which have now been submitted to NICE for approval.
