I am a Consultant General and Upper Gastrointestinal Surgeon with a special interest in minimally invasive (keyhole) surgery practising at Spire Hull and East Riding Hospital, welcoming patients across Hull and East Yorkshire and surrounding areas. I offer a comprehensive, patient-centred approach to care, supporting you from initial consultation through to recovery.
I specialise in laparoscopic weight loss (bariatric) surgery, including gastric bypass, gastric band surgery and gastric sleeve (sleeve gastrectomy), as well as revisional procedures. Alongside bariatric care, I routinely perform hernia repair (including abdominal wall, groin and hiatus hernias), gallbladder removal (cholecystectomy), gastroscopy, and treatment for acid reflux, including non-surgical options such as Stretta and anti-reflux surgery. My practice also covers general and gastrointestinal surgery, laparoscopic and minimal access procedures, and the treatment of obesity-related conditions.
I have a particular interest in oesophageal and gastric cancers, working closely with a multidisciplinary team to deliver expert diagnosis and surgical care. I also provide prompt assessment and treatment for acute abdominal pain, including appendicitis. In addition, I carry out upper GI endoscopy and minor surgical procedures such as pilonidal sinus surgery, lipoma and sebaceous cyst removal, and ingrowing toenail treatment.
Since becoming a Consultant at Hull and East Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust in 2006, I have led the Upper GI cancer service for the region and contributed to medical education as an Honorary Clinical Tutor. My surgical training began at a university teaching hospital in North India and continued in the Yorkshire region.
Today, I take pride in working alongside specialist colleagues to manage complex and challenging cases, ensuring the best possible outcomes for every patient.
