My current NHS practice is based at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital where I am a core member of Thyroid and Parathyroid Multidisciplinary groups as well as an Educational Supervisor for the Specialist Registrars.
I graduated from the University of Birmingham and completed my Senior House Officer training at The Royal National Throat, Nose and Ear Hospital in London, including time spent on the Professorial Unit. I then trained as a Specialist Registrar around East Anglia, including at Addenbrookes Hospital in Cambridge as well as the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital.
I completed sub-specialist training as a Head and Neck Fellow in Melbourne, Australia at the Western Hospital and the Petermac Cancer Institute, gaining wide exposure in the management and surgery of many complex head and neck cancers. In 2011, before finishing my work in Australia I proudly received a 'CARES' Award from the Western Hospital.
I am a keen teacher and in November 2019 I received the Silver award for Clinical Teaching at Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital. As well as several other awards, including Clinical Tutor of the Year in 2010 and 2011 at Western Clinical School, University of Melbourne. I have also written various book chapters and am co-author of a book for training called “Bullet Points in ENT” first published in 2014.
Research interests: QOL studies in Head and Neck.
