I qualified from University College Dublin Medical School in 1993 and trained in orthopaedics in Leeds. Further Fellowship training was undertaken in lower limb arthroplasty and arthroscopy in Australia and pelvic and acetabular reconstruction in St George’s Hospital, London.

I was appointed a consultant to St George’s Hospital in April 2010. My interests include hip and knee joint replacement surgery, knee arthroscopy and ligament reconstruction, pelvic, acetabular and general trauma.

I am involved in the education and training of undergraduate medical students and postgraduate orthopaedic trainees, and am actively involved in research.
