I am a Consultant ENT Surgeon at Addenbrooke’s Hospital, Cambridge, with more than 20 years’ experience in the management of adult and paediatric ear disease and complex skull base pathology. My practice includes advanced hearing support in collaboration with an expert audiology team, as well as the implantation of hearing devices for individuals with severe hearing loss. Additionally, I provide comprehensive management of all forms of tinnitus, including pulsatile tinnitus.

I have performed over 2,000 major middle ear operations encompassing cholesteatoma surgery, hearing reconstruction, and stapes procedures, together with more than 1,000 cochlear implants and 1,000 major skull base operations. I have also pioneered investigative pathways and surgical techniques for patients with pulsatile tinnitus and Eagle syndrome, supporting more than 1,500 patients with these challenging conditions. I receive referrals from across the UK and Europe, and I can provide expert consultations via secure video conferencing as needed.

I have served as President of the British Skull Base Society, Past President of the Royal Society of Medicine Section of Otology, and National Lead for UK Neurofibromatosis Type 2 Services. I play a key role in the multidisciplinary teams for hearing implants and skull base care at Addenbrooke’s, and I co-founded and continue to support the Complex Ear Forum, which provides expert management guidance to otology colleagues nationwide.

Committed to advancing both research and clinical care, I have published more than 100 peer-reviewed papers, contributed multiple book chapters, and delivered invited lectures internationally. My current research focuses on improving the management of pulsatile tinnitus, optimising intracranial venous outflow, and refining approaches to Eagle syndrome and related cranial nerve impingement syndromes. I also hold the position of Affiliate Associate Professor at the University of Cambridge.
