I am a Consultant Urologist specialising in benign prostate disease, urinary incontinence, bladder dysfunction and reconstructive urology with extensive experience in both male and female urological conditions.

I practise privately at Spire Cambridge Lea Hospital and hold a senior NHS position at Addenbrooke’s Hospital, Cambridge, where I lead services in bladder dysfunction, incontinence and urethral stricture disease.

My clinical practice focuses on the investigation and treatment of lower urinary tract symptoms, urinary leakage, urinary retention, haematuria (blood in urine) and urethral stricture disease. I have particular expertise in prostate surgery, including the minimally invasive UroLift® procedure, which I pioneered in East Anglia to improve outcomes for men with prostate enlargement. I also offer specialist treatments for stress urinary incontinence, bladder conditions and complex reconstructive urology, as well as microsurgical procedures such as vasectomy reversal.

Having completed my medical degree at St Bartholomew’s Hospital Medical College in London, I undertook my basic surgical training in Ipswich at St Bartholomew’s Hospital and Great Ormond Street Hospital in London. After a period of research at Great Ormond Street Hospital and the Institute of Urology, UCL, I was awarded an MD by the University of London. I undertook my specialist training in the Wessex region, working in the large hospitals in Hampshire.

I am a partner in the Cambridge Urology Clinic, together with my Addenbrooke’s colleagues, Vincent Gnanapragasam and Alex Colquhoun and we are based exclusively at the Spire Cambridge Lea Hospital.

Alongside my clinical work, I am heavily involved in research, innovation and education within urology. I have published extensively in leading international journals and contributed to national and international guidelines, including work with NICE, NHS England and the European Association of Urology. I serve as a principal investigator on clinical trials and regularly review research for major journals and the National Institute for Health Research.

In 2017, I received a National Clinical Excellence Award by the NHS in recognition of the significant contribution I have delivered towards the delivery of safe and high quality care to patients and for the high standards demonstrated in leadership, teaching and research commitments.

I am also an active educator, delivering invited lectures and teaching at national and international meetings, and organising specialist courses such as the Cambridge Pelvic Floor Symposium. My work includes contributing to patient education resources and improving standards of continence care at both national and international levels.
