I am a vascular consultant surgeon and my practice encompasses the full range of index vascular surgical operations. This includes varicose vein procedures, open and stent graft aneurysm surgery, bypass surgery for limb salvage and carotid surgery to prevent strokes. I do have a specialist interest in minimally invasive endo-vascular techniques and interventional radiology.
Additional treatments I carry out include carotid surgery for stroke and TIA (mini-stroke). Lower limb bypass surgery for ischaemic legs. Nellix EVAS aortic aneurysm repair. Open and endovascular aortic aneurysm repair. Open and endovenous laser / radiofrequency ablation for varicose veins. Sclerotherapy for cosmetic flare / spider veins and treatment of diabetic foot complications.
I qualified at Guy's and St Thomas' Hospital in 1997. I completed my higher surgical training in the South West Thames region and undertook an endovascular fellowship back at St Thomas' Hospital London and then the Royal Sussex County Hospital, Brighton.
I am an NHS consultant at Frimley Park NHS Hospital with a specialist interest in endovascular techniques. I am a joint lead for vascular simulator training and teach on various courses about vascular and general surgery (including the Registrar Ready Course, St Thomas’ MRCS course and London EVAR course). I am the vascular lead for the diabetic foot service at Royal Surrey, Guildford Hospital and lead on a new stent graft system called Nellix for the treatment of infra-renal and complex aneurysms.
I maintain an active research interest and am the principal investigator at Frimley Park for the 3D image registration mapping project for aortic aneurysm repair. I have published in a number of peer reviewed journals on general surgical and vascular topics and presented at a number of national and international meetings.
I am a director of a medial software company (www.clinsoftsolutions.com) specialising in developing healthcare software and mobile applications.
I am the Lead for Nellix Aneurysm Sealing at Frimley Health NHS Trust and the Lead for Vascular Diabetic Foot services at Royal Surrey Guildford.
