FRCS (Tr + Orth), Pg Dip SEM
I am a Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon with specialist expertise in hip and knee surgery, including primary and revision joint replacement procedures. I have completed advanced fellowship training in both the UK and overseas, working with leading specialists in hip and knee arthroplasty and revision surgery. My training also includes experience in hip preservation surgery and knee arthroscopy.
I trained on the prestigious Royal London rotation and gained extensive experience in trauma surgery, giving me a broad background in the management of both routine and complex orthopaedic conditions. During my training, I also worked at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital in Stanmore, where I developed experience in tertiary-level joint reconstruction.
My clinical practice includes hip and knee replacement surgery, partial joint replacement procedures, and revision surgery for patients requiring further treatment following previous joint replacement. I also have a particular interest in sports injuries, hip pain and gluteal conditions. In addition, I regularly use MAKO robotic-assisted technology for joint replacement surgery, helping to support precision and personalised surgical planning.
To date, I have performed around 500 hip and knee replacements, several hundred arthroscopic procedures and approximately 30 revision joint replacement procedures in the last year alone.
Alongside my clinical practice, I am passionate about education and training. I co-chair the Queen's FRCS Examination Revision Course and serve as a Lead Educational Supervisor for orthopaedic trainees, supporting the development of future surgeons.
I am also the Orthopaedic Research Lead at Barking, Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust (BHRUT), where I have helped recruit patients into a randomised controlled trial investigating blood-thinning treatments for hip fracture patients.
Having spent much of my childhood in East London and Essex, I have a strong connection to the local area. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my wife and two sons. I also enjoy going to the gym, cycling, travelling and spending time outdoors.
